“Coordinating structure: CT DUS ( Commission for Urban Sustainable Development) is a work group coordinated by the Directorate-General for Territory (DGT) and composed by 24 national and regional entities. CT DUS aims to foster cooperation between different levels of governance, support urban authorities in accessing European and national opportunities for sustainable urban development, and encourage synergies between Research and Innovation and local urban policies and practices. On the other hand, Cities for Climate Network, a collaborative initiative, funded by the Environmental Fund, aims to accelerate the transition to climate neutrality in Portuguese cities and regions. This network was founded by Portuguese cities interested in participating in the European Cities Mission. The network comprises 20 cities so far, is aligned with the European Mission, and promotes the participation of Portuguese cities in the Twinning Learning Program and other funding mechanisms. Its activities are promoted and managed by the Technical Secretariat, promoted by IN+.

National partner supporting the Cities Mission: the Directorate General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) is promoting regular initiatives to foster the dialogue and synergies between CT DUS and the Cities for Climate Networks.”
