Sharing practices and circular lifestyles are gaining ground in European cities, from shared housing amenities and co‑designed public spaces to grassroots repair initiatives, food sharing, and new models for urban resource use. Circular practices hold a variety of co-benefits and can for example reduce overconsumption and emissions while strengthening communities.
In this Urban Lunch Talk on Sharing the City: Circular Lifestyles in Practice, we will reflect on how sharing practices emerge, how they are supported or constrained by policy and planning, and what it takes to move from isolated pilots to durable, city‑wide circular solutions. We will explore questions such as: What are residents and communities actually prepared to share – and under which conditions? What has and will come out of ongoing DUT R&I Projects? How can sharing approaches contribute to wider goals for climate neutrality, social inclusion and resilience in European cities?
