The DUT Call 2024 Is Now Open!

Our third funding opportunity for transnational research and innovation projects, the DUT Call 2024, is now open. Approximately 47 million € is available for collaborative projects that accelerate the transition to climate-neutral and sustainable cities.

The DUT Call 2024 presents a unique opportunity for innovators, researchers, and urban planners to secure financial backing for their visionary ideas. Research and innovation projects that focus on circular solutions, sustainable mobility, and renewable energy in cities, have the chance to collaborate on pressing challenges together with other countries across Europe and beyond.

“Through the third DUT Call, we aim to catalyse transformative urban solutions that integrate technical excellence with societal impact. We are seeking projects that can drive meaningful change, enhancing inclusivity, resilience, and the efficient use of resources in our cities” says, Margit Noll, Coordinator of the DUT Partnership.

Who can apply for funding?

Applicants can be research organisations, companies and commercial organisations, urban government authorities, consumers and civil society representatives, and from the culture and creative sectors.

The Call underscores the importance of experimentation, co-creative approaches, and cross-sectoral collaboration to overcome urban challenges and build sustainable, resilient, and climate-neutral cities. It encourages projects to go beyond national efforts and expects a collaboration of at least three partners from three different countries. A total of 29 countries in Europe and beyond are collaborating to fund projects in the Call.

How to participate?

The Call is open for pre-proposal applications from 2 September to 14 November 2024. Interested organisations are invited to develop project ideas and find suitable partners via the DUT matchmaking platform.
